But Saul was ravaging the church by entering house after house; dragging off both men and women, he committed them to prison. -Acts 8: 3
This verse from Acts is a reminder to us of the possibility to turn one’s life around. Saul was the greatest persecutor of the church. He regularly killed and imprisoned these early Christ-followers. He was savage and without mercy.
But God changed all that. Later in Acts we read of how God changed Saul’s heart and mind and then changed his name to Paul, the apostle.
Whenever we doubt our use to God, or our usefulness to the church, it is helpful to remember that God uses our gifts, whatever they might be, to share the story of Jesus with a world waiting to hear.
